A lot of times I don't really listen to the songs we sing in worship. That may be a terrible thing to say, but it's true.
Sometimes when the regular worship's over, if you were to ask me what the songs were, or what they said, I'd be hard-pressed to tell you.
But that's my loss. Listen to August M. Toplady's words in the song "Rock of Ages," which we heard sung today.
"Rock of Ages, cleft for me," it says, tying Jesus forever to the living God.
We know the story of how God gave the people water in the desert. They were thirsty, and they were angry with Moses and with God.
That's natural, isn't it? When we face uncertainty - as they did - or death - as we do today - we have all kinds of feelings.
